early life :emma mae martin was born in beacon hills , california to shawn and natalie martin . she grew up fairly spoiled , but like her sister there is far more to her than designer labels . the youngest martin is fairly rambunctious compared to lydia and their older brother aidric , but just as bright . she's incredibly curious , loyal , and protective ; traits which were only magnified when she was bitten and turned into a werewolf .the bite :when emma was a freshman in high school , her sister was scratched by peter hale. in an extremely rare occurrence , lydia did not turn into a werewolf . while it was later revealed that she had undergone a transformation , one that peter did know about , he decided that it was in his best interest to play dumb . ❝ distressed ❞ and ❝ desperate ❞ , peter conducted a half - assed , reckless little experiment . he set out to turn three more students ; a boy of whom the identity was never revealed rejected the bite entirely and passed . another boy was successfully turned via scratch and joined peter in his short - lived quest for power . emma was touch and go for several hours , but ultimately accepted the bite and completed the transition .omega era :emma initially wanted absolutely nothing to do with peter hale , opting like scott and her sister to refuse to join him . while during this time they were all technically omegas , the three of them looked out for and kept each other safe .the hale pack :when derek ended peter's life and took the alpha spark , emma decided shortly thereafter that at the very least , she could count on the younger hale to keep her safe for the sake of power . she claimed him as her alpha , keeping him at arm's length for a while in the beginning . eventually with time spent together and the addition of erica , isaac , and boyd , she began to develop a genuine loyalty to derek and the pack . she even managed to convince peter's other beta – with whom she'd been in touch since peter's death – to sit down with her and derek , and subsequently to join the pack .now :emma currently lives in beacon , and is still a member of the hale pack consisting of : derek hale ( alpha ) , laura hale , cora hale , riley hale , isaac lahey , erica reyes , emma martin , paige krasikeva , and technically peter hale – though he lives more as an omega than active member of the pack . the hale and mccall packs are friendly , often meeting all together as they generally have similar ideals / goals in mind .

early life :the martin family moved to kildare before emma was born , packing up a newborn lydia and heading out of beacon hills to settle into a large house on figure eight . the girls grew up spoiled , full fledged kooks – until emma was in middle school . she met the pogues during an assembly one day , hitting it off immediately with kie and jj in particular , and it was then that the gap between kook and pogue began to close somewhat . while she tends to hang out more with kooks ( she's known rafe since birth , also close with topper , kelce , etc . . . ) , emma has friends on both sides of the island .both parents loved and doted on both emma and lydia , until shawn up and left natalie and the girls behind and moved out when emma was sixteen .the bite :emma was still turned by peter hale , who happened to be wandering through the carolinas one summer when she was fifteen . there was no affair in this verse , as he was just passing through town and wreaking havoc for the hell of it . until asher mccall ( @coeurdefoudre ) came passing through himself attempting to determine the scale of peter's mess , she had not even an inkling of peter's identity . once turned , she only ever sees peter on the occasional trip to beacon hills .currently :she has since moved into her own house , a small ( compared to others on figure eight ) white house with black shutters and a wide front porch . she tends to sit out there and smoke , pet toast ( her dog ) or willow ( cat ) , and say hi to neighbors and friends passing by . occasionally she'll pick up a part time job , but for the most part emma lives off of the money which shawn provides in place of fatherly affection .

emma is a half-elf ( technically ) , born in rivendell but raised between there and the shire . while her mother is purely elven , her father is a hobbit with beorning blood in his ancestry . as such he , aidric , and emma can each take the shape of a large animal ( shawn and aidric bears , emma a wolf ) . lydia technically also possesses this capability , but has never utilized it .emma resembles an elf in every aspect but stature , standing at a mere three feet ten inches . while on the taller end of the average hobbit height , she is incredibly small compared to the elves and / or beornings . when transformed , her shape is no bigger than the size of an average timber wolf ( about five feet in length , three feet tall ) .personality - wise , she is far more in her element around hobbits , though she is capable of behaving in a more reserved manner when necessary ( particularly within elven settlements ) .the first few decades of her life were spent bouncing back and forth between hobbiton and rivendell with her family , until such a time as she could begin traveling back and forth on her own . possessing the elven ability to craft magical items , she often passes through bree in order to pedal her creations to passing hobbits and bounty hunters .this verse is heavily affiliated with @razorfst but open to all dynamics .
